Classroom Behavior Management Plan For 2018-19
Students in the Ms. McDonald’s class will follow The Big Three. These are the traits that we will follow in all classrooms, hallways bathrooms, playgrounds, cafeteria, and busses at Cornelius Elementary.
The Big 3: 1. Be Respectful, 2. Be Responsible, 3. Be an Active Learner
We combine a color chart with a point system on Class Dojo. Everybody will start each day with 10 points. Students will be able to earn/lose points throughout the day. I really want the focus to be more about good choices and acts of kindness. Of course, points can be taken when a bad choice is made. Students will always have a chance to earn their way back up. This system will also give me good data. It will keep track of points earned and lost for each category. At the end of the day a color will be added to the monthly behavior chart to let you know what kind of day your child had. The colors should be used as a tool for you to talk to your child about their school behaviors.
Behavior Chart:
Purple- 11 points or more -Super Star Student( 5 purple earns a trip to the treasure box)
Blue- 9-10 points-Making Good Choices( 10 blues earns a trip to the treasure box)
Green- 7-8 points- Needs to make better choices
Yellow- 5-6 points- parent communication/consequence/possible time out/white cougar paw
Red- 4 points or below- parent communication/consequence/possible time out/possible white cougar paw/ possible office referral)
